Asheville Homegrown

I am in love with Asheville North Carolina. From the moment I walked out of the Asheville airport in 1999 and my husband and I  subsequently purchased our Asheville North Carolina Bed and Breakfast -I have been smitten.  For one, Asheville is one of the most naturally beautiful places I have ever been privileged to visit.  Secondarily to that, we have it "goin on" here and that is truly real.  Home grown is more than a byline in Asheville, it is the real deal.  From the vibrant tail gate markets featuring, fresh, locally grown produce to the lamb, fish and beef locally grown to Lusty Monk mustard to moonshine.... We do it all-Well!

Now, my own personal favorite....Bread....It is in my neighborhood baked by Jennifer Thomas, a resident in our historic neighborhood.  Jennifer is no stranger to the food scene.  Formally trained in both baking and pastry arts at our local AB Technical College, whose curriculum has gained national recognition, she took that training to the next level tackling the expansion and inspection necessary to use her home kitchen to create a neighborhood sensation when in 2009, she opened Montford Walk In Bakery using inspiration and interest garnered during an internship at Wake Robin Farm Bakery.  There is nothing pre-made, no store front, just fine- beyond excellent- bread.

I have asked to be on her mailing list and so...If a loaf of extraordinary bread sounds as preferable to you as it does to me to the lowly T-shirt usually offered as the vacation remembrance, we just might be able to hook you up-Asheville Style!
