One of Asheville's favorite yearly festivals is by far and away LEAF Festival 2012. This year's May fest is scheduled for May 10, 11, 12 and 13 and will be found neatly nestled below Mt. Mitchell in Black Mountain very convenient to Asheville. A great treat for the guests at our Asheville Bed and Breakfast always interested in area traditions, music and art all of which can be found in spades at LEAF. For three days on four stages old traditional sounds of diverse cultures ring through these hills with representation of African, French, Latin, Cajun, Celtic, Blues and more just stirring your soul with the mountain magic we are noted for.
Find your dancing shoes too with Contra, Swing, Waltz and more as you soar across what is likely the largest dance floor to be seen in the south. Not to worry if Fred Astaire is NOT your name, as there are workshops in whatever of those dance languages best suit you scheduled throughout the day.
Ok, boogy shoes in tow, you've danced your Asheville off and now...Famished is your middle name. How does some serious interaction with international cuisine sound to you? Yes, I thought so and even better- it is fresh and prepared on site.
The only thing left to do is purchase your ticket. They can be for one day or all the days. Also, try and carpool there as the line for all those crazy folks that actually thought they would have success just "dropping in" and gaining entrance that day are all trying to get in too. The line is beyond the pale.
Hope to see you there!
