26th Annual Arts and Crafts Conference Show, Grove Park Inn

For nearly 14 years I have been threatening to compile statistics about why my guests seek out the city of Asheville in such numbers.
There are a number of reasons I've identified and also harbor as personal reasons for the the intense popularity this area of Western North Carolina enjoys.

It is scenically one of the most naturally beautiful areas in the United States offering hiking, biking, whitewater rafting, hot air ballooning, zip lining, skiing, kayaking, horseback riding and variant outdoor activities changing with the seasons.

In addition we provide a rich cultural environment inclusive of opera, symphony and theatre in all its many forms seen generally only in larger, more metropolitan areas.
However, while all these are draws to the area, one would be negligent in failing to note the draw of antiquing, crafters and furniture acquisition that lure guests to our city.

This year, as it has for 26 years, the arrival of 130 exhibitors displaying everything from metalwork, lighting and books to rugs, furniture and sterling silver will converge on our fair hamlet and the hot shopping will begin.  Hosted at Grove Park from February 22, 2013 (Friday)-February 24, 2013 (Sunday) every thing will be on display.  Hours: Friday: 1-6 p.m.  Saturday: Noon - 6 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.and there is free outdoor parking.  Admission price: $10  A bit of a break for our student population: $5  All under 14 free. I have guests that routinely book the inn for this very popular event so if this weekend finds you in Asheville-Look no further for something very fun to do.  Get your year's special occasion shopping done avoiding the malls entirely and presenting a one of a kind gift they'll enjoy always.
